Alan Selva was born in 1972 in Faenza and graduated in clarinet in 1993. From 1994 to 1996, he collaborated with the Eclettico Ensemble, whose repertoire included contemporary music. He participated in several concerts, festivals and radio recordings with this ensemble. He was admitted into the Italian YouthOrchestra in the years 1995-1997. He was a pupil of Maestro Alessandro Carbonare at the International Academy "P. Chimeri" of Lonato (Brescia). Hewas a member of the “Trio Rota” (piano, clarinet and cello) with which he attended the three-year masterclass at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, under the guidance of Maestro N. Masi. He graduated at the end of 2001/2002 academic year. In the same year he collaborated with the group “Octandre”. In 2003, he attended summer coursesheld by instructors of the “Quintetto Bibiena” at the Chigiana Academy ofSiena. Currently, he participates in chamber and symphonic concerts. He alsoalso collaborates with several orchestras, among which are the: “B.Maderna”Orchestra of Forlì, “City of Ravenna” Orchestra, Pistoia Promusica Foundationand Camerata del Titano. He has participated in recordings and concerts broadcasted by RadioTre and RaiTre. In early 2002, he founded the “Trio Eccentrico” with the flutist Massimo Ghetti and the bassoonist Javier Gonzalez. He is also a clarinet instructor in a secondary school specializing in music.
